Programs – Scholarships

Recognizing the power of investing in our local students who have a heart for serving others, the Brevard Heart Foundation offers an annual scholarship program, which has provided over $500,000 to students on a merit basis. Each year, the Foundation seeks to support students furthering their education in healthcare-related fields, recognizing that healthcare degrees often have additional costs. Nursing Scholarships
Nursing scholarships are available to any student who is a Brevard County resident or who graduated from a Brevard County high school. You must have been accepted into a nursing program or already be enrolled before applying.

Additionally, the “Nancy Meisenheimer Nursing Scholarship Award,” named after a dedicated nurse who served in Brevard County, is awarded annually to a student attending Eastern Florida State College who shows dedication and compassion in the nursing field.

Physician Scholarships
Physician scholarships are available to any student who is a Brevard County resident or who graduated from a Brevard County high school. Preference is given to those students desiring to practice in Brevard County after graduation.

Also, the “Jack T Bechtel, MD Scholarship Award” is available to one exemplary student who demonstrates a passion and commitment for becoming a physician with a heart for serving others.

Physician Assistant Scholarships
Brevard County is in need of high quality, committed Physician Assistants. The Physician Assistant scholarships are available to any student who is a resident of Brevard County or who graduated from a Brevard County high school and is currently enrolled in a Physician Assistant program. Preference is given to those students desiring to practice in Brevard County after graduation.

Medical Transition Scholarships
Medical Transition scholarships are full-tuition-paid scholarships for the Certified Nursing Assistant program for students showing financial need. These scholarships are awarded through our partner organizations such as the Brevard Women’s Center, quickly positioning these individuals to begin a new career path in healthcare that will better provide for them and their families—while they take care of ours.
